Would the serial number off the gun be helpful? I would like to know exactly what model I have. I am also not familiar with the mechanics of the revolver, but I believe the mainspring is bent as it differs from photos online. I believe it is 32 SW short although uncertain. There is another name I found called NEW MODEL AUTOMATIC SHELL EXTRACTING DOUBLE ACTION but I'm not sure or either of these names. Could someone kindly provide any available information regarding the Iver Johnson top break revolver (year manufactured, etc) It has serial number 4197 under the grip. Any thoughts? From what research I have found I think this model revolver I have is called the PERFECTION AUTOMATIC but I could be wrong. It's a perfect file mark cut intentionally for whatever reason. I was organizing my safe the other day and decided to take it out for the first time since last year to clean it thoroughly along with the other guns she had given to me. Haven't shot it but I had it out last year to look at for the first time since I acquired it. It's a Forehand and Wadsworth top break 32 S&W revolver 6 shot. It is 32 caliber, 6 shot, and it will chamber 32 longs. The top of the barrel is marked Iver Johnson’s Arms & Cycle Works, under that is Fitchburg, Mass. I have had this gun since 1988 when it was given to me by my mother in law. I was hoping one of you could help me identify the year & model of an Iver Johnson top break that I just picked up.
